In the market square of central Krakow, during Christmas there is a traditional competition held to find the best nativity scene. Laboriously hand-made models, built by self-taught craftsmen are of particular interest to researchers of regional customs. However, they bring the utmost joy to children, for whom Christmas holds the greatest surprises.
